From the geopolitical strategy of the Church under the pontificate of Francis, through the role of Latin America in the global confrontation between China and the United States. The management of migratory flows, the very delicate issue of Taiwan, ending with the geopolitics of “gratitude”. These are the themes at the center of Geopolitiks, the geopolitical festival organized by the Futura association and the University of Naples L’Orientale. Many high-caliber guests: from the journalist Marco Imarisio to the former minister Enzo Amendola.
The aim of the event – presented this afternoon and which will be held in Naples at the Sannazaro theatre until Saturday – is to try to tell the story of the change taking place.
As mentioned, scholars, journalists, academics and politicians will meet to address issues such as the war in Ukraine, the Taiwan issue, the great waves of migration. To tell how important the concept of gratitude is in global balances.
Every day from 3:30 pm to 6 pm, journalists of the calibre of Marco Imarisio, correspondent for Corriere della Sera, Ugo Tramballi from ISPI, Mattia Ferraresi from Domani, Valentino Di Giacomo from Il Mattino will take turns on stage, who will dialogue with the academics. On Saturday 30 September, Alessandro Pansa, former chief of police and director of DIS, and Enzo Amendola, former minister for European affairs, will speak.
“The event – highlights Paolo Wulzer, professor of History of International Relations at L’Orientale – intends to bring into close contact with the city and the territory some of Unior’s specific and characteristic knowledge on the subject of international relations, area studies and global dynamics”.
“Geopolitics affects our daily choices. We talk about climate change, lack of raw materials, migratory waves: Geopolitiks wants to become the place where we can better understand their origins and the reasons for certain choices” adds Alfonso Principe, general secretary of the Futura association.
The opening debate, entitled “India. What game is the most populous country in the world playing?”, saw the Unior professor Diego Maiorano and the journalist from Il Sole 24 Ore, Ugo Tramballi, alternate at the speaker’s bench.
The inauguration of the event was attended by Roberto Tottoli, rector of the University of Naples L’Orientale, Paola Fraconte, president of the Futura association and Alfonso Principe, general secretary of the Futura association.
