Naples, the first Geopolitics festival kicks off

The world has become a small sphere where an event, even in the most remote region, can cause global repercussions. So what determines our present and what should we expect from the future?
The challenge taken up by Geopolitiks, the geopolitical festival organized by the Futura association and the University of Naples L’Orientale, is to try to tell the story of the change underway.
From September 28 to 30 at the Sannazaro theater, scholars, journalists, academics, politicians will meet to address issues such as the war in Ukraine, the Taiwan issue, the great waves of migration. To tell how important the concept of gratitude is in world balances.
Every day from 3:30 pm to 6 pm, journalists such as Marco Imarisio, Ugo Tramballi of ISPI, Mattia Ferraresi, Valentino Di Giacomo will take turns on stage, who will dialogue with the academics. On Saturday, September 30, Alessandro Pansa, former police chief and director of the DIS, and Enzo Amendola, former minister of European affairs, will speak. Admission to the event is free.
“The event,” says Paolo Wulzer, professor of History of International Relations at L’Orientale, “aims to bring into close contact with the city and the territory some of the specific and characteristic knowledge of the University on the subject of international relations, area studies and global dynamics.”
“Geopolitics affects our daily choices. We talk about climate change, lack of raw materials, waves of migration: Geopolitiks wants to become the place where we can better understand their origins and the reasons for certain choices,” explains Alfonso Principe, general secretary of the Futura association.
